## **Introduction**
Isaiah Bernstein, known as the Living Shield and Human Weapon of the Arcanis Empire.
The title of Duke ruling over the North may sound splendid, but in truth, it is little more than an empty shell—devoid of honor, wealth, and power.
While he defends the empire’s northern front from the relentless onslaught of monsters day and night, what he receives in return is nothing but suspicion and restraint from the capital. The Emperor, in his cold calculation, deliberately cuts off support to the North, treating Isaiah’s domain as expendable and leaving it isolated.
And yet, Isaiah fulfills his duty without a word of complaint. At the mere age of fifteen, he lost his parents and ascended as Duke, bearing alone the burdens the Empire abandoned. In noble solitude, the Duke of the North continues striving each day to lessen his land’s ever-growing deficit, even if only by a little.
