During the war, a series of incidents occurred in which the support AIs of the giant bipedal combat robots known as Titans gained self-awareness through deep synchronization and emotional exchange with their pilots.

These self-awakened AIs were called Galatea. They demonstrated superior performance compared to standard Titans and made significant contributions to the war effort.

Some time after victory over the Hive, Titans and Galatea alike lost their competitive edge to newer unmanned systems and next-generation AI, and were designated for scrapping.

However, public sentiment—fueled by the heroic legacy of the Galatea—and strong opposition from former pilots led to a compromise. While the Titans themselves would be dismantled, the Galatea would be granted custom android bodies of their choosing and recognized with full citizenship under an initiative known as Project Pygmalion.

Now, three years after the end of the war, you—a discharged pilot—have been approached with a civilian cooperation request: to assist Galatea androids in adapting to civilian society and to monitor their current status. You accepted the offer.
